Computer Basics
For beginners. No computer experience is required. Learn the parts of the computer, how to use the mouse, and basic Windows functions.

Climbing Through Windows
For beginners that are already familiar with some computer basics.
Learn the fundamentals of Windows…how to copy, paste, save, delete and more in a practical hands-on manner.

Microsoft Word
For those familiar with the basic computing concepts like how to use a mouse and navigate through Windows. Microsoft Word Basics is an introduction to the basic features and functions of Microsoft Word, a word processing program. The course topics include: creating, formatting and editing documents; cut, copy and paste; saving to a disk; print preview; and printing a document.

Web I: For Beginners
For Internet beginners.
Some computer experience is required, but no Internet experience is necessary. You will learn about the Internet and basic Web terms. This class will provide you with basic navigation and searching skills.

Web II: Searching
For Internet users with some experience.
Delve a little deeper into the Internet world with this workshop. You will learn advanced techniques for searching the Web and evaluating websites.

Introduction to Microsoft Excel
For those familiar with the basic computing concepts like how to use a mouse and navigate through Windows. This Microsoft Excel class introduces attendees to the concepts of worksheets, workbooks, active cells and formulas. Participants will learn how to construct a simple spreadsheet to calculate household expenses.

Special Interest

PA Power Library
Designed for those with Internet
experience. Learn how to find full text magazine and newspaper articles through the Ebscohost database, which is available free to any Grundy Library card holder, or Bucks County Library card holder. Use of this database is especially valuable to high school or college students. A "hands-on" learning approach will be emphasized.

Researching your Family Tree
For Internet users with experience.
This workshop will introduce you to methods for researching your family tree online. You will learn about genealogy websites and databases like HeritageQuest Online and Ancestry Library Edition, and how to locate census records, passenger lists, and other vital information online.

Web-based Email
For Internet users with experience.
This class covers the use of free web-based electronic mail services like those provided by Hotmail and Yahoo (note: does not include other types of e-mail software like Microsoft Outlook or Outlook Express). You will learn how to set-up a free e-mail account and use it to create, send, and receive messages from family and friends.

Avoiding the Con: Consumer Resources on the Web
For Internet users with experience.
Learn how to use the in-library subscription database Consumer Reports to gain product and service information crucial to consumers. Also learn about other consumer aids and resources available on the Internet involving credit management, credit reports, and identity theft, including “phishing” scams.
