The Margaret R. Grundy Memorial Library is a private organization operated under the auspices of The Grundy Foundation and governed by a Board of Trustees. The Trustees reserve the right to change this Policy of accommodation without notice, and have unfettered discretion to deny any individual or organization access to the Library space, its materials, or programs if it is in the best interests of the Foundation to do so.
We wish to make the Grundy Library a welcoming place for all who use the library. Adults, children and teens are expected to follow the guidelines outlined in our Behavior Policy. This policy is available at the library and lists the rules and regulations that all must follow.
The Grundy Library is a free public library that is open to all. It is not safe to leave children unattended in any public building. The library staff has many duties and cannot supervise or assume responsibility for the safety of children left unattended. The library cannot be used as a substitute for daycare or afterschool care.
Anyone not following the Behavior Policy will be asked to leave the library. Children are given the opportunity to call home before leaving. Leaving the library includes the library building, park area and all Grundy Foundation property.
